Red Sox - Cards, pretty much the two best teams over the course of the whole season.
Atlanta had their moments, then they Atlanta'd in the playoffs. The Pirates were a great, fun story - keep an eye on them, McCutcheon's the real deal. Dodgers got hot once Puig got there, will be interesting to see what they can do with him over a whole season.
Tampa Bay is always dangerous, hope for their sake they stay intact. Cleveland was a good story this year, always liked Tito Francona. Detroit is set, great lineup, sick pitching, Sox never made a lot if hay til they got into the bullpen. Like Oakland, the A's probably do more with less than any other team (they're kinda like the Duke football of MLB).
Looking for a good World Series, want the Red Sox to win, St. Louis has an awesome team, it's gonna be tough.

This is when I start watching baseball...World Series. I believe the two best teams (as you mentioned) made it and it should be one hell of a series! Boston does need to get their hitting back on track though if they intend to win it. They were saved by a couple of Grand Slams in the last series...can't count on that this time!

Game 1
Red Sox 8 Cardinals 1
Don't know the specifics, if any, of the rule governing umpires reviewing plays/calls on the field (NOT instant replay), but they clearly got the play in the first inning correct. 2nd base ump called Pedroia out, Ortiz had unsurprisingly chopped one into the shift to 2B, he turned and went to 2nd to try and start an inning-ending DP. Problem is, the SS absolutely NEVER had possession of the ball on the throw, it barely even hit his glove at all (his foot WAS on the bag), and the ump standing RIGHT THERE called him out. After a brief meeting of all six umps, they changed the call (correctly) to safe, making it bases loaded w/ one out rather than 1st and 3rd w/ two outs. Cards Mgr went nuts, but they got the call right. Napoli hits a 3-run double after that, and the wheels came off for St. Louis after that.

Heard Mike & Mike talking about this one this morning on the radio...they definitely got the call right. I'm glad that they huddled to make sure they got it right, that's good stuff for baseball!

You couldn't even make the argument about the late foul in the basketball game scenario if you're St. Louis and, to his credit, Wainwright didn't. He's the one that threw the pitch to Napoli, but this happened in the bottom of the first. St. Louis had numerous other opportunities, in the field and at the plate, throughout the rest of the game, and they didn't do anything with them.

Going back to Boston for Game 6, the Red Sox lead the series 3-2. "Big Papi" has been phenomenal! He's on an awesome hitting streak right now, it's almost like he knows which pitch is coming and where it's going. Awesome stuff. That 3-run homer from Jonny Gomes Sunday was great! Watching his reaction was really, really cool. If Baseball were like this all the time, I may watch it more, but when you play 100+ games, it gets old, fast. World Series baseball is awesome, and I'm not afraid to say it.

Good job by the Red Sox, and against a classy organization and team.
Did anybody else notice the ongoing sportsmanship? Batter chops a foul ball into the dirt, he retrieves it at the plate and puts it in the catcher's mitt, and slaps the catcher on the back. Saw a lot of the same in the ALCS between Boston and Detroit. Rather refreshing.
