I don't know what it is about the Olympics, but whenever I get the opportunity, I am GLUED to the recliner watching it. It doesn't matter what is on, I'm so into it! I rarely, if ever, watch a lot of the competitive sports (some I wouldn't necessarily call a sport) but I find myself pumped to pull for Team USA no matter what's on! I watched Table Tennis (Ping Pong) and was REALLY into it yesterday, WHY!? I don't know why, but I love it and I can't wait to get home and see what happened throughout the day!

I love watching the swimming events. I was a competitive swimmer back in the day, and it always brings back great memories. Plus, I was at a level of fitness that I'll neeeeever see again, haha! On that note, the one thing I wish would change about this year's olympics is the constant chatter about Michael Phelps. So he didn't medal....big deal! He dominated the last two olympics and has nothing more to prove to anyone! He has more gold on his shelf than a pawn shop! Nobody should be surprised that a new guy like Lochte is taking over as the dominant USA swimmer. It's time to pass the torch. Congratulate Phelps on a phenomenal career and bringing home a truck load of gold for his country, and cheer for the new guy! Okay....off the soap box.
I hope the basketball team can live up to the hype and bring home the gold. Oh, and it would be awesome for Misty May Treanor and Kerri Walsh to bring home the 3rd gold in a row in beach volleyball.
Whatever the sport........GO USA!

I'm the same way Tizu. I love the Olympics, no matter what the sport. It is so fun to watch. Maybe it's the fact that we only get to see most of these sports on TV every 4 years. Either way, I thoroughly enjoy watching and pulling for TEAM USA. From the opening ceremonies, to all the events, this is awesome!!!! USA, USA, USA!!!!!!

Well, looks like Phelps has shut up the critics. You like apples, he has the most medals EVER, how 'bout them apples? Lochte really got his game back in the relay. He built a nice lead right from the start.
It was awesome to see the USA women's gymnastics team bring home some blingy bling too!

Phelps just doesn't really look like he's in it this year. Last night when he could have easily won the 100M Fly he coasted too long at the end and settled for Silver. Yeah, he was upset, but probably b/c he knew he had it won and figured he was further ahead than he was. Today, he allowed Lochte to beat him in the 200M IM. I know he's the greatest Olympian swimmer ever, but Dude, you're representing your country, get out there and win the Gold! Don't settle for 2nd.
