Yet another part of my youth lost today - selfishly, I mourn because the innocence of The Andy Griffith Show to this day makes me feel the world may turn out O.K. after all; cynically I can't help but feel there goes one more great piece of America that today's kids will never get benefit of in the midst of all the garbage that passes for "entertainment" these days. There is no way I'd ever be able to thank this great man, whom I never met, for all he's done for me both as a kid and an adult. A large, honest, decent part of my childhood and, indeed, my adulthood as well, lost to all of us today. Warmest thoughts and prayers to his family and friends on his passing, with my most heartfelt thanks for sharing him with me through the course of my life until today. God bless.

I absolutely loved watching Andy Griffith when I was growing up. I still watch the re-runs even though I know every episode by heart.
Andy was a great role model. May he rest in peace.

When I heard the news Tuesday, I was saddened myself. I remember my mother watching episodes of Matlock and myself watching the Andy Griffith Show. There's an oil change place that I frequent which plays episodes of the show...I thoroughly enjoy going there and waiting on an oil change while watching it.
R.I.P Indeed, Andy. You will be missed!
