LOL! I know the feeling...at least the Summer Olympics will be coming on soon! By that time it'll be about time for NFL Preseason, though.

Maybe Florida State will give us something to talk about soon. Clemson, too.
I think they'll realize that the Big XII doesn't make any sense for them. But my take on the recent flap is that they aren't trying to send signals to the Big XII that they are ready to leave the ACC. I think they are talking indirectly to the SEC. That's the conference that makes the most sense for both of these schools, and if the SEC is going to 16 teams these are the two best out there.
I'm betting if that happens, the SEC will petition the NCAA or BCS or ESPN or whoever it is that runs college football these days to have their two eight team divisions be considered separate conferences for playoff consideration. How many current conferences would be stronger than an SEC East of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Vandy and Kentucky? Or a west with Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Missouri?

That's true, Ken and I've thought about the same thing. the two division conference is a great idea for the SEC because they have so many power houses in that conference it's not funny. Adding FSU and Clemson would just be icing on the cake. South Carolina and Clemson in the same conference division would be an amazing rivalry. They already have quite the rivalry and they are in completely separate conferences now. It's a pretty big deal down there. It would never be as big as the Duke vs. UNC rivalry, but in football it's pretty hostile down there. I would rather not see FSU leave. I can deal with Clemson leaving, though. I'd rather see FSU stay and the ACC pick up a couple of those SEC schools...but that would most likely never happen. There's even talk of VT heading to another conference. The ACC is so basketball driven that the football schools are wanting out. Swofford needs to make some changes to make the ACC appealing for all the big sports. Being that football is the biggest revenue sport for all conferences, it would behoove the ACC to try and pick up some big time programs. I could see Tennessee coming to the ACC and perhaps even South Carolina coming back to the ACC...although that is the least likely thing to happen (SC coming back). I'd love to have a "Carolina" I will pull for. My wife went to USC and has some-what converted me to a Gamecock...but only when Duke isn't in the picture.

A plus for a move to the SEC by FSU and Clemson is that it would improve the academic stature of both conferences at the same time.

Personally, I don't want Clemson or FSU to leave. I like things just the way they are!
