Good Morning. I have checked on line and the local paper but I cannot seem to find the time of the UNC FF game.
If anyone has that information and can post, I sure would appreciate it.

Although I had 3 of the 4 FF teams right and Kentucky and Kansas in my Final, I am kind of rooting for Pitino.

I can't root for a Calipari coached team. I just cannot bring myself to do it...so I'll be rooting for Pitino. It's the least I could do after Laettner and Duke destroyed their run to the Final Four in the early 90s

Has Jefferson announced yet? I think, as a Duke fan, you have to hope that Cook really steps up and becomes the point guard that team needed last year. As it is, you're still looking at a couple of Plumlees, a slew of shooting guards and some new guys. Murphy will be a red shirt frosh in what was supposed to be his freshman season anyway (why did he graduate early again?) and Marshall is supposedly the best Plumlee, but we heard that Mason was leaps and bounds ahead of Miles and have yet to truly see that. Duke will finish near the top of the conference as will UNC IMO with perhaps State being there as well if new players and old find some semblance of chemistry and balance. However, if anyone thinks that Duke is going to magically right the ship next year, they're mistaken.

Interesting analysis. Not sure what ship Duke has to right per your comment. I believe Duke won 27 games last year after losing 95% of their offense and 3 key starters from the previous year. Year before that they won the NC. So if winning 27 games and being upset in the NCAA tourney is a ship that needs righted, there a quite a few fan bases in the country that would purchase a ticket for that cruise. Murphy came to Duke to play but when he was injured they decided to red shirt him. Simple enough. Has Jefferson announced yet? Yes, Murphy was injured during one of the games in China over the summer last year. However, both Murphy and Marshall were expecting to redshirt because of the players that were already ahead of them. It made sense for them to polish their game a little bit before being thrown in. Lots of players who are 'good' but 'not quite there yet' should redshirt IMHO to make them more valuable in the long run.
If they come out of HS ready to go and just need a little polishing, throw em in the fire and let them learn as they go.

The ship that saw Duke stumble a bit down the stretch culminating with being bounced out the ACC tournament in the semis and getting upset by a clearly inferior Lehigh squad in the NCAA opener. If you really think Duke ended the season anywhere close to where it started the season (looking like a national title contender in Hawaii), then you are sadly mistaken. As the season wore on, the lack of leadership, lack of point play, lack of a legitimate wing forward, etc. really hurt Duke. Maybe Rivers leaving will actually help Duke and they'll give Cook a more extended look at the point

So you are saying that a loss to a team that beat UNC by 33 earlier in the year and then beat them again in the ACC Championship game and who was a 3 seed in the NCAA tourney is cause for the ship needing righted. Bless your Heart. Duke lost to UNC and FSU. Two very good teams. Some folks had FSU going to the FF. Then Duke was upset by Lehigh. But looks like I am a little different than you. I do not take one game and judge the whole season as you seem to have done. Nope season did not end the way Duke fans wanted. Ship needing righted. Not so much. Interesting analysis. Anyone that thought FSU was going to do anything other than its annual fold in the NCAA tournament was deluded. Congrats to them, they managed to beat Duke and UNC 4 times while losing to Yale, BC, etc. FSU was a classic case of a team that played up or down depending on the competition.

I think Rivers leaving will help Duke. He's an awesome talent, but he didn't look like a team player to me.
