Indeed, that's what it was. 4 big time heavyweight programs going at it. The Michigan State / Kentucky game wasn't much of a game until late, then Julius Randle showed why he's hyped. He went off and single-handedly brought them back into the game. Nothing too exciting there other than Tom Izzo's team is going to be good....again.
The Kansas / Duke game was awesome. It was a back and forth battle from the opening tip. Andrew Wiggins is very good...but what I saw from Jabari Parker from Duke was nothing short of spectacular. That kid is good...damn good! 27 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block. Impressive. He can drive, shoot, dunk (spectacularly)...pretty much do anything you want him to. I was impressed to say the least.
Kansas was the better team in the end. Duke could not hit their Free Throws! Missed 12, lost by 11. They actually missed more if you count the front ends of the 1 and 1's they missed. That's frustrating. How the hell you can have all those shooters and shoot so poorly from the free throw line is beyond me.
Awesome game, can't wait to see Duke grow and get better as the year goes on.
