Yes, Duke. How the hell can you score 55 damn points in a football game and STILL lose!?!?
Damn, Connette's last interception (Pick 6) won the game for Pitt. One hell of an offensive showing. Duke's secondary (other than Cockrell) is terrible. Their offense is actually pretty damn good, even with Boone being out! Secondary is the killer and hurt them badly in this game and in all their games, really.
Tough break for the Devils this weekend.

Duke's margin for error is pretty thin. If they win all four of their non-conference games (which they should) they still need two conference wins to get a bowl bid. Pitt was probably one of the likeliest wins on the schedule, so letting this one slip away could have serious repercussions.
Fortunately for Duke, the Coastal division is relatively weak this year, so they're not out of the running yet. But they can't lose games they should win (like Wake and Navy) or they will be.

You're absolutely correct (as usual) Ken. Those games are "must wins". I hope they are able to pull out a win against someone else....but the back to back bowl seasons now appears to me as if it was a nice dream.

58-55 in football is ridiculous, kinda like the Marshall-ECU bowl game some years back (64-61, I believe). Just ..... wow.

If they could get a break with injuries and build up the defense, Duke will be good and make some noise in the conference. Connette is very inconsistent and throws a lot of interceptions. I'm not making excuses, it's just the facts, unfortunately. I'm itching so bad for them to have a good football team I can't hardly stand it. Though the upgrades to the stadium *might* help with recruiting...I don't know, we'll see. Here's some architect drawings / pictures as to what they envision it will look like upon completion: With it full: Closing the horseshoe and updated press box / suites: Entrance: I've seen some other drawings and a video rendering from an architect also, but not sure those have been approved / agreed upon: Video:

Looks nice, and as a fan you want to "know" your school cares as much about, in this instance, football as they want you to care.
