When in the hell is somebody gonna call Gimme Johnson out on his BS?
I'm not talking about the best car money can buy - I've already made my point on that perfectly clear.
Thank God that Kyle Petty actually had the testicular fortitude to pop off last week about Johnson whining about the restart WHEN HE WAS NOT EVEN THE LEADER!!! Kyle heard Gimmeez radio transmission and said on the broadcast he hated to come off sounding like a smart aleck, but wondered why NASCAR just didn't go ahead and let Gimme make up the rules for restarts each time as it best suited him.
Well, tonight, the OTHER Gimme specialty - blocking. Hell, they waited for the end of the race then interviewed (or showed the interview with) Kasey Kahne (you know, one of Gimme's blockers) and asked him what happened. His response was that Gimme went up to block the high lane, so he dropped low and was going for the lead (against team orders, no doubt), then he just got "body slammed", there's nothing you can do at that point, that's just what happens in these types of races, etc., etc., etc. Pardon me while I puke - getting real sick and tired of hearing the company NASCAR line as an excuse to continue covering for Gimme and Felony Motorsports.
The shot back down the backstretch from Turn 3, looking head on at the cars as they came out of Turn 2, CLEARLY showed 9 beginning to go high, so 48 went up to block JUST LIKE KAHNE SAID. Then, as 5 (Kahne) cut low to try and move for the lead, 9 went for the middle lane. I was coming back home from Charlotte this evening as the race was beginning, I saw about the last 40 laps or so on TV, but even on the radio broadcast they said several times leading up to the start of the race that there would be plenty of room for 3, maybe 4-wide racing tonight. So, as the 5 went low and the 9 went middle, what did the 48 do (AFTER, BY THE WAY GOING HIGH TO BLOCK 9 ONCE ALREADY) Of course, 48 turned hard left, hitting the 9 that was by this time BESIDE HIM, knocking 9 over into 5, and sending 5 (GIMME'S FREAKING TEAMMATE FOR CHRISSAKES!!!!!) head-on into the inside wall.
I thought I had lost respect for Gimme last week when he not only popped off about the restart that was PERFECTLY LEGAL, but after the race he declined to make himself available for an interview (5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time); if there was any shred of respect I had left for Gimme, it's gone. Between cheating and blocking, I think I see now how the most expensive race car built by the cheatingest team owned by the crookedest owner in NASCAR history continues to win races.
Curious why Tony Stewart doesn't have anything to say about all of Gimme's blocking? Oh, wait, that's right - he's the lead driver for Hendrick Light. My bad. Money makes the world go around. Cool by me, though, it's all good - the first legitimate car finished 3rd, too bad Kevin's leaving after this season to be a hind banana at Hendrick Light - that's a shame.
