Happy, of course, that Harvick won, you don't have to dominate, just be consistent and take care of your equipment (and, last night, have the good fortune to not run over about a half mile of rope).
Single weirdest incident I've ever heard of at a race (beats Montoya wiping out the jet dryer at Daytona), sorry to hear some folks got hurt but nobody too seriously from what I read, thank goodness.
Haven't always been enamored with Bruton Smith, but gotta give him his due - single biggest military appreciation event every year, and I truly believe it all is sincere and comes from the heart. Much respect for all involved.
And, for what it's worth, I totally agree with how NASCAR handled the caution and subsequent red flag from the camera cable/rope incident, letting everybody repair/pit their cars under the red flag and EVERYBODY held their positions on the restart, not a "normal" racing incident by any means.

That was very odd, indeed! I disagree about the repairs able to be made during the red flag, though. I remember a few years ago there was an issue with asphault coming off the track and damaged Jeff Gordon's car (I don't care for him at all), and they made him fix it under caution and he lost laps because of it. I just ask for consistency in how they're handling the in-race situations such as this. It wasn't anyone's fault it happened, and it was a track issue, not a car/team/driver issue.

The best explanation I can come up with there is that when Gordon got the damage to his car (don't know why, I want to say it was at New Hampshire, doesn't really matter), it WAS a racing incident inasmuch as the track surface is germane to the actual racing product. A kevlar-sheathed nylon rope that drives a camera suspended over the race track in yet another Fox Network gimmick to draw two more people to the race broadcast is not germane in any way, shape, or form to the actual racing product. That, and multiple cars were affected by the dying rope.

That's a good point...I concede to it.
