I'm really looking foward to the ACC Tournment beginning today. I think with Kelly being back that Duke will be hard to beat, plus, the 3 seniors on the floor that will add leadership. As for Carolina, I think they will have a difficult time because of their size. Today I see State winning and moving on against Virginia. Virginia will be a tough win for State, but should be a good game because both will be hungry to move on and prove themselves. For Virginia, winning could make the difference in getting a bid for the NCAA or NIT. Anyway, for those of us that enjoy college basketball, we love this time of the year.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I'm not too quick to say who's going to win it all though...a lot of people are saying Duke is the overall favorite, and that may be, but anything can happen. I'm taking it game by game and what happens, happens. If Duke doesn't win the ACC tournament, I hope for a deep run in the NCAAs...that's the one I really want them to do well in.

As I have always done, I pull for all the Triangle teams when they aren't playing each other. This year, I have some mixed feelings, because I think the ACC has only four NCAAT bids sewn up already. I'd love for the league to get one or two more, but I think that can only happen at the ACCT expense of the Triangle teams.

I want Carolina to win it also, but taking that time off may not be so bad. In our case, JMM's back could probably use the rest. Winning the NCAA is more important. I don't see Carolina making it because they just don't have that inside game needed to make it to the final 4. I think Duke does with their bench and size + 3 pt. shooting game.

Marty, I think today State played its best game. They really showed how defensive can make a difference. They have been a scoring team all year, but today they add defense. VT went 5 minutes in the 2nd half with out scoring, but more than that, the first half State's defense had them confused. Tomorrows game against Virginia should be a good one. State may be peaking at the right time.

Maybe, but I've been harping on it all season - they (to me, anyway) LOOK like they try to turn it on and off at will, and they're not good enough to do that. Effort must come from the jump, if it does they do pretty good. If not, they struggle. We'll see. Good luck to your guys tomorrow.

I'm interested to see how tonight's games go. The top 4 seeds are playing for the first time. I wonder if there will be any upsets? The way the season has gone thus far - anything can happen. I just hope Duke prevails!

I was impressed with State's performance so far. I now believe they have a shot to win it all. They may be disappointed they were only a #5 seed, but I think that now works to their advantage. Miami got a scare, and spent a lot of emotional energy today. State was never seriously in jeopardy for two games, and I believe it is the adrenaline rush from playing close games that leads to tired legs. I look for State to play on Sunday.

Well, Marty, the Terps have now set up the possibility of a rubber match with the Heels and State. That would be fun. But both teams still need to take care of business. Carolina hasn't even won its opener yet. Hate that it starts so late when I have to get up early.

Carolina did well, FSU had been playing of late. Didn't watch the 2nd half, hope Hairston is O.K., but I'm not think about them right now, thinking about Howell's own injury and Miami. Can't get to Sunday without winning on Saturday.

North Carolina vs Miami, The "least" likely triangle team to get there will now represent the state Miami is a bad match up for the Heels, we`ll certainly need the 3`s falling today AND we need much better FT shooting .... Go Heels

Go Heels Well, Carolina got those things, and Miami still was able to pull away at the end. They really are that good. For the life of me, I can't understand how they lost to anybody but Duke.

I agree, Ken. Miami is really, really good. They took a couple of nights off and got some nasty losses, which is the only reason they aren't a #1 seed. Congratulations to Miami on winning the ACC. It's the first time an ACC team has one both the Reg Season and Tournaments and have not been a #1 seed. Crazy.
This NCAA tournament is really going to be "madness". Duke has a tough, tough bracket...I'd venture to say the toughest bracket overall. They'll be lucky to make it out of the first weekend.

Man what a crazy tournament! Didn't see Duke losing to Miami, and expected to see my Pack on Sunday. Congrats to Miami. They deserve it. I was proud of the way the Pack played the first two games, and I think fatigue had a big part in the lose to Miami. Plus the fact that Miami is damn good this year. The NCAA tournament is going to be a good one. So many upsets happened in the regular season that you know there's going to be some in the tournament.

One of the talking heads on ESPN Sunday night (granted, they didn't reveal an entire bracket) actually had all (4) 1's making it to Atlanta. No imagination.
At least Bilas had the brass to pick VCU (5), he did have 2 1's and a 2 as well.
