UVA was a 1 point favorite at home against Duke. Not surprising, their defense and style of offense causes problems for a lot of teams. Joe Harris is a man. 36 points. He went OFF!!! Duke never led the entire game, were getting beat in every aspect, down low, penetration, rebounds...everything. They came back a couple of times within 1 where I thought Duke was going to be able to take the lead. Never happened. UVA is solidly in the tournament with this win. Congratulations to them. I can't hate them for playing a hell of a game. I like their coach, too.
Now, to play Miami. What a tough ending to a week. The good news was Ryan Kelly was suited up and was on the bench dressed out. Coach said if this were a tournament game, he would be playing. That's great news. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play some tomorrow, but I think the debut will be against VT next week.

Look - Duke's not the perfect team this year, far from it. You know what? This year, as much as any recent year I can think of, that doesn't matter. The national champion this year will be the - THE - team that keeps their chit together for six straight games. Hoping I'm wrong there, inasmuch as I'd really like to see a "good" title game (and all the rest of them too, of course), I want the champ to "win" the title, not just "screw up less". From the sheer "entertainment" perspective though, it tells me the tournament's gonna be WFO. For crying out loud, Indiana has lost 3 games this year as the top-ranked team in the country. When in hell has that ever happened?

It is by far the wildest season of college b-ball I've seen in a while. The tourney should be a good one.
