Way I see it, time for State to put up or shut up. 7:00 PM, Pack. Show up then - right f'n THEN - or don't show up at all. Ya'll want to eat at the big boys' table? Show up hungry. Don't take what they give you - TAKE WHAT YOU WANT. Preseason hype don't put you on the big stage, YOU DO. Get it done, men. Right now. RIGHT F'N NOW. If a kid in a wheelchair is willing to take a charge, what are YOU willing to do? 40 minutes. No less, more if need be, but I want to see your FULL DAMN EFFORT for 40 minutes. Carolina ain't gonna quit, it's up to YOU to show 'em the door. I'll be there. Go Pack

My grade: C+
I'll take a win (especially over UNC) but for the love of God, Pack, grow a damn killer instinct. I'm not about embarrassing anybody or running up the score, but there's no way ANYBODY should be allowed to cut a 28-point lead down to 5 - ever.

I agree with you Marty. It's ridiculous to let them come back like that, but you know what...........THEY GOT THE W! Whoooooooooooooo! I'm so happy I could run around the house naked, even with the ice still on the ground.
I was nervous when Carolina started coming back, but thank the Lord! The streak is over! Time for a new streak to start. I'm proud of our Pack for a killer first half, and not falling completely apart in the second half and hanging on for the win.

If there's no way anybody should be able to cut 23 points off a lead, how is it possible for one team to build such a lead in the first place? If the shoe had been on the other foot, and Carolina had bolted out to an early lead, don't you think State was capable of coming back? I've watched enough ACC games to know that comebacks are more common than blowouts in league play. All these guys have a lot of pride, and even if the game were being played on the playground instead of in front of 19,000 screaming fans they'd be fighting hard to come back. That game meant a lot to Carolina, and to Roy Williams. No way were they going to go quietly. State embarrassed them early. They needed to prove to themselves they could play with the guys in red.

Agree with you, and I never thought UNC would roll over. My point and complaint was State got complacent and satisfied with a 28 point lead and about 12 minutes left on the clock. Were Carolina's comeback have been due to an adjustment made by their coaches during a timeout, it would've at least made sense. Why then was UNC suddenly able to drain 3's and get layups and dunks? Part of it, according to Coach Gottfried, was attributable to fatigue. Makes sense, seeing as how Jordan Vandenburg and Tyler Lewis played 3 minutes each; that left Leslie, Howell, Wood, Purvis, Brown, and Warren to play the remaining 194, an average of over 32 each. If the players can't be blamed for getting tired due to the style they were playing then some of that blame must lay with the coach for failing to sub more and in greater numbers, even if only in the first half.
Carolina made the comeback because they didn't quit against a tiring opponent; all the credit in the world goes to them. The 28 point lead was obtained due to hard work, exertion, and smarts; it was nearly lost completely because of the lack thereof. If the "usual" Carolina team ever had anybody down 28 and let them get it down to 5 in Chapel Hill you know as well as I do that UNC fans wouldn't be happy with that. That's all I'm saying ...

Staye played an amazing first half. I personally didn't see fatigue in the 2nd. What I did see was State slowed the game down with 15 minites to go. It looked intentional...as in from the coach. Maybe that was due to them being tired...but what I saw was State took theor foot off the gas pedal. See Miami vs Duke earlier in the week. Miami never let up, not for a minute. THAT'S what State needed to do.
Either way it was still a good win for State. Any loss for Carolina makes me happy. I just hope Duke can beat them...and I hope Duke beats State for round 2. ;D

Well, it's apparent that the Wolfpack doesn't know how to win on the road, so Tizu, you've got a good shot at being happy with the turnout of "Round 2."
