I thought it was a great game for the most part, each team had their turns making runs, happy State was able to pull it out.
The elephant in the room, obviously, is that Duke missed Ryan Kelly being in the lineup but State still had to make the plays to take advantage of his absence, and they did. Hope he's back soon, seems like a great kid. Hope Curry's issue at the end of the game is minor, too. Hate to see these guys get hurt.
Key for State now will be to handle success well.
Congratulations to my Wolfpack!!! Way to go, guys.

Un-freakin'-believable! I was at work yesterday, but I watched it when I got home. I threatened everybody I knew not to tell me the result before I had a chance to watch it. I'm so proud of our boys and the way they played. If the Pack can play like that every game, watch out!
I hope Curry's ankle is minor and I hope Kelly's foot heals soon. Both are great players and it sucks to see them hurt.
GO PACK!

Awesome game to watch! I called it two weeks ago with family and friends. I had a feeling State would beat them on their own court..and when Kelly went out that solidified my prediction.
Great game guys, we'll meet again, hopefully 100% healthy.

What sucks is Duke has to play State again in just a couple short weeks...I really hope they are healthy by then, but who knows with the injuries to Kelly and Curry how they'll be...that's 50% of Duke's offense right there and Kelly is a great defender as well. Here's to hoping the Devils take em' down in Cameron

You know, I've heard and heard and heard "We're not going to use it as an excuse.", etc., etc., etc.
Kelly is a MAJOR part of what Duke wants to do. Obviously, if he's not there, it's going to have an effect. It's only an excuse if anybody says "Duke would've won if Kelly had played".
On the other hand, I don't buy that Curry being out "hurt" Duke all that much; he did play off and on until about 3:00 to go, yeah he could've hit 3's between 3:00 and 0:00, but Wood and Warren did a much better job closing out on him in the 2nd half than they did in the 1st, so that argument to me is reaching at best.
Each team had their runs, each team hit shots and made plays, and it was a damn good game from start to finish. If the injury "excuse" is used then in my opinion not only does it take away from State's effort but it diminishes Duke's back-up players' (thinking mainly about Hairston and Jefferson) efforts throughout the game, which were fantastic.
I would've hoped, as a basketball fan, that both teams would've been at full strength but injuries are part of the game. Besides, no team ever - EVER - took it easy on State when they've had injuries, suspensions, deaths, or anything else. In every game, each team plays their best, the game is called fairly, the game is played cleanly, and whatever happens happens. THAT should be the goal.
I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to Duke on a great game, and my sincere wishes to Ryan Kelly and Seth Curry for their quick and complete recoveries from their injuries.
Go Pack

I agree with you Marty. I'm certainly not taking anything away from State, it was a great game and both teams played well I think. Jefferson, in his limited minutes really showed why he was highly touted. He has to ease up on the fouls, but I was really proud of how he played otherwise. He and Hairston both. Josh is a veteran, he's been there, unfortunately, he doesn't have as much talent as someone like, say, Jefferson. I"m not sure why Murphy didn't play (defensive liability?) or Marshall. He played a little bit, but not as much as I would have expected...it didn't matter though, State had Duke's number the whole game and they were going to win regardless of who played in my opinion. I just hope Duke kick State's ass next time! haha

I hope Duke does NOT kick State's ass in Cameron, but I won't be surprised if they do. Cameron is a very, very hard place to play...unless you're a Blue Devil. My guess is that it will be another very exciting game and it will be a close one!
