What a poor performance for Mason and Curry last night. They were pretty much shut down. Mason was double and triple teamed all night, yet still came away with 10 points. He turned the ball over FIVE...count them, 5 times! I don't know what his deal was with that, very uncharacteristic of his thus far this year. Curry is a sporadic shooter...sometimes (like last weekend) he can't miss, then like last night can't hit himself in the ass with both hands.
I am pleased however that Kelly, Cook and Thornton made up for the loss in scoring. That was huge. Thornton can be an excellent, excellent offensive weapon...but we all know he's there for defense.
I was not pleased with the overall performance, it was ugly, but it was a win. ACC play is starting this weekend boys, get your coozies ready!

Yeah, Davidson did a great job shutting down Mason. It was an ugly one, but a W anyway. Who does Duke play first? I know the Pack has BC on Saturday.

About what I would've expected from a Duke-Davidson game - Coach McKillop refused to let Plumlee and Curry beat them, forced other Duke players to do the deed, Duke obliged. Margin about what I expected as well.
Overall, nothing "great" for Duke from this win, no harm either. Good win, though, against a solid team. Davidson can make some noise this year.
