Observations:
Great initial effort and intensity.
Even greater job of removing foot from gas pedal.
Unfortunately, then did a good job of "flipping the switch".
Lo Bee - Good overall game, only a couple of careless passes that led to TO's but good game overall.
Calvin - "Eh" game; not good, not bad. He's not going to get 20 and 10 every single game, but quietly played an O.K. game.
Big 'Un Rich - Awesome. Continues to improve his play; bloodlessly efficient on offense (one ill-advised long crosscourt pass for a TO), MAN among toddlers on the glass, yet again one of the most unselfish players I've seen in a good while. Asserting himself as a leader of this team by effort and example.
Rip - GREAT explosive quickness, looks like he needs to work on his shooting, would like to him become deadly from 15' out, that wouldn't do anything but open up drives for him and the inside for others. VERY happy to see he's trying to blend in to the team, has the potential to "take over" but appears willing to defer and learn, which is a good thing.
Teej - Short of Howell, quite possibly the most consistent player so far this season. Amazing poise and command of himself and his game. 21 points in 28 minutes? From a freshman? In his 9th game? Very pleased with him so far.
Teeloo - Great vision, matches every bit of rep as "pass first" PG, love this kid's hustle. Doing a great job so far this season of "taking it all in" and learning, appears to have a good mastery level of Gott's offense for it being so early in his career. Good floor leader.
Crocodile Dundee - Dude. WTH? Get well. We need ya. Can't teach 7 feet. Get back on the floor.
Wooden Soldier - Shooters' accuracy comes and goes, he "keeps playing" (which I would fully expect from a senior). Hope it's not a sign of the pending apocalypse that Richard Howell needs to sit down and have a talk with him about not committing so many silly, useless, stoopid fouls 30 feet from the f'n basket. Think, man. You're a senior. Play like one.
Negative: *** yawn *** Team FT shooting. This has to be one of the easiest things to work on individually, and it will be one of the most important factors for this team (good or bad) as they get later in the season.
Overall grade from last night: B- (marked down due to continuing to flip the switch)
