If State's kids have spent one second of time smiling about 5-0, it will be 5-1 this time Saturday. UNC's played well this season, they seem to be hitting their stride offensively in Coach Fedora's new system. The have speed on defense and in special teams.
The gigantic, pink-elephant-in-the-room, X-factor for me is what mindset State's defense, particularly the secondary, shows up with on Saturday. If they hit the field thinking they're "something special", I'm afraid UNC could set the tone early and capture unstoppable momentum.
The Pack will have to play "hungry" and with a chip on their shoulder all day, without losing mental or emotional discipline. I fully expect UNC to come out firing on all cylinders and the Pack better be ready to answer and counter.
Go Pack

First off: very disappointed there isn't more traffic on this board. Feel like I'm talking to my damn self.
Now: Congratulations to the kids on UNC's football team, especially Giovanni Bernard, for their win today. Great performance, what happened in the first quarter is exactly what I was afraid would happen, but the Pack weathered the storm and looked good for the win through the majority of the game. However, playing "not to lose" is not the say as playing "to win".
Oh well, win some lose some. Pack can't let this loss destroy them, gotta keep playing the games hard and forget it. The streak wasn't going to last forever, hopefully the Pack starts another streak next season. Congrats, UNC: You earned this one today. Great game.

I've got to give UNC props, but I still feel poor decisions on our sideline lost that game.
1. Don't play for overtime, play to win the damn game!
2. Of all people to let have the ball at the end, don't give it to the best player in the ACC! Kick it out of bounds and make them score with hardly any time left.
Our boys showed a lot of heart today, but our coaching staff didn't show that they have faith in the offense at the end of the game. I knew the streak would end at some point, but up until about a minute left in the game, I didn't think it would be yesterday.

I'm sorry, playing for OT in a game like that was ludicrous! UNC clearly had all the momentum. TOB should be fired immediately for that decision alone. That was the single worst decision in NCAA FB so far this season. Atrocity. I was so pissed after that game I wanted to drive to NCSU and kick TOB's ass.
I'm not even a State fan, but a coach making decisions that cost you the game in that scenario should be fired. PERIOD.

Yeah, but I forced myself then and am still doing it now, to look at how many DROPPED passes State had, most with no UNC defender even in the picture as I was watching on TV. I didn't agree with the fumble called against Mario Carter after review but, if the rule states it's a fumble it's a fumble. PLENTY of time and opportunity after that play, UNC took advantage of their opportunity and State didn't. I refuse to wig out over one game, whether it was against UNC or not.

I've already had the dropped past/playing for overtime discussion with a few fellow Pack fans. We all agreed that the dropped passes were a big issue, but that does not override the fact that we played for overtime and didn't even TRY to win the game in regulation. I don't care if they dropped 16 passes instead of 8, you never give up on your offense....especially when it's against a rival like UNC and you'r quarterback has a rocket launcher attatched to his right shoulder.
Tizu....if you make that trip, please call me so I can ride with you.
