I am at a loss for words on what I witnessed at the end of the Green Bay vs. Seattle Monday night game. There is absolutely no way the refs should have missed that call, even after viewing the replay, but somehow they did. It was clearly an interception (even you Russell Wilson fans must agree). I am in no way a fan of either team, but the Packers were absolutely robbed of a win. This is embarassing for the NFL. I know the replacement refs are doing the best they can, but something has to be done because this is ruining the league.
I kept hearing all of the analysts say that when one of these horrible calls costs a team the game or gets a player seriously hurt (see the Schaub hit against Denver), that Roger Goodell would have to get something done. Well here we are faced with that exact scenario, so what will Goodell do? Schaub lost part of his ear after that hit for God's sake!!!! Come on NFL.....GET IT TOGETHER!!!!!

That MNF game ending was despicable...although I wanted GB to lose, not because the refs took it away. There were too alternate scenario's that would have avoided this blown call, though:
1). Get the first down - game over. 2). Bat the ball down instead of catching it - game over.
Easier said than done, especially in hindsight. I must admit though, seeing Aaron Rodgers get pummeled 8 times in the first half was very amusing...discount double check!
There was also the hit on Darius Heyward-Bey from Oakland. that was a nasty - albeit legal - hit. He was out before he hit the turf.
I know it wouldn't happen, but it wouldn't surprise me to see the players go on strike until the refs are back. It is almost unwatchable with the blown calls.

I agree Tizu. There have been several games where the officials either made terrible calls, or called no penalty at all (There should have also been offensive pass interference on that final play for Seattle, as Tate SHOVED the Green Bay defender to the ground to position himself for the "catch" that wasn't really a catch). I also remember last Monday night when Denver and Atlanta played. I can't exactly remember the specifics, but the game was delayed over 7 minutes as the refs huddled up to try and figure out what the hell they should call for a certain play. It's getting terrible. I can't blame these players and coaches for speaking out even though they know they will be fined. Something has to be done. Hell, give me a whistle and a zebra shirt and let me take a crack at it!!!!

I figure since they've hired refs from the lingerie league, that I as a former little league referee should also be qualified to be a referee in the NFL...and I wouldn't mind the pay that comes along with it, either. ;D

Huge Wilson fan; loved watching him at State, missed him while he was at Wisconsin, not a Packers fans.
That was an interception; "simultaneous possession" my ass.

Herm Edwards made a great point on "Mike & Mike" this morning as well.......If you put a Seattle uniform on M.D. Jennings (the Green Bay player who INTERCEPTED Wilson's pass), no one would argue that it would have been a game-winning TD catch. Everyone in the sports universe would be talking about what a great play Jennings made on the ball to give his team the win. The only problem is, he doesn't play for Seattle. So I still haven't figured out how in the world they could have ruled it a TD for Golden Tate. RIDICULOUS!!!!

Like Marty, I'm a huge Russell Wilson fan, but that call was ass backwards. No way that was a TD. Thank goodness the real refs are back and we can get back to watching the NFL as it should be. The biggest thing I hate about last Monday night's call is that Wilson was involved. It's not his fault the refs got it wrong, but he'll be known as the interception TD quarterback.

The good news for him is he has plenty of time to bury that stigma. Wasn't his fault, he didn't lock the real refs out.
