Rodney Purvis and Rasheed Sulaimon, two future ACC rivals, will represent the United States together on the 2012 USA Men's U18 National Team.
Purvis, a North Carolina State University recruit from Raleigh's Upper Room Christian Academy, and Sulaimon, a Duke University recruit from Strake Jesuit College Prep in Houston, Texas, were selected to the team this weekend after participating in the Team USA training camp in Colorado.
The team will travel to Sao Sebastiáo do Paraiso, Brazil, this week to compete for the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship. The tournament consists of eight teams – Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States, and the United State Virgin Islands. The top four teams from the field advance ot the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship next year.

Shaq Goodwin, Southwest DeKalb (Decatur, Ga.)

Montrezl Harrell, Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.)
Jake Layman, King Philip Regional (Wrentham, Mass.)

University of Florida head coach Billy Donovan is serving as the head coach of the U18 team. Gonzaga's Mark Few and Virginia Commonwealth's Shaka Smart are assisting Donovan.
The U18 national team is 38-2 since 1990, when it began competing. In 2010, the USA U18 team won the Gold Medal over Brazil, 81-78.
Purvis and Sulaimon both participated in the 2011 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational basketball tournament in Raleigh.
