Maybe not "national" but the Panthers, uh, "game" was on TV tonight. Thank heavens I can't get NFL Network (whatever the hell that is).
Nice effort, guys. At home against a banged-up, short-handed team. At least Tampa Bay plays 'til they tell 'em not to play anymore (according to their coach, anyway). Way to show up, fellas.
Delete "Permanent Seat License" and insert "Please Suck Less".
36-7. Damn. Glad I invested absolutely nothing in that pathetic pile of kitty litter.

I'm with you on that one Marty. What a piss-poor performance, indeed.

The thing that gets me is all the Super Bowl and playoff talk before the season, then to come out and lay a complete egg like that when they had motive and opportunity to perform well. And it's the same performance, with the same reasons, with the same excuses, with the same people WEEK AFTER WEEK, GAME AFTER GAME, YEAR AFTER YEAR! The main thing that looks like it needs to change is management. Draft choices, trades, and free-agent signings aren't the domain of the coaches or players; that's squarely on management (and ownership, of course).

MUCH better effort and performance today. Sure, still lost - but this time a very good undefeated HOME team had to squeak by. THIS was the team I was led to believe I'd see this year. Build off of this one guys. I'm not one for "moral" victories or "good" losses, but there's no shame in losing to the Falcons at home the way they did today. In it the whole game, just ran out of time - it happens. Feel much better about the Panthers now than I did after the Giants game.

I feel better...but I gotta tell ya....if Cam didn't fumble the ball on that 3rd down...Panthers would have won. They would have just lined up in the victory formation and taken the knee to run out the clock.
The punt...which special teams did an AMAZING job of downing at the 1, was awesome. Just what they needed....then...they let the receiver get behind them on a 60 yard heave for a completion down to the 40. So, instead of playing up on the receivers...they were covering deep instead of covering the outs...knowing they needed to stop the clock...why Rivera...WHY would you cover deep KNOWING they needed to get out of bounds to stop the clock? All the while allowing Atlanta to chip away 10 - 15 yards at a time to get within field goal range. It was over as soon as that pass was caught. Coverage was hideous on that play also.
Panthers need to work on their secondary big time. I was pleased with the 6 sacks by the DTs, though. They played a heck of a game.
Cam needs to learn he can't stand in the pocket all day...he's a runner...SO RUN! He took several sacks yesterday that he could have ran for 5+ yards each time.
Oh well...on to the next one.

That being said, I would like to confess I feel like a horse's ass for what I posted. True, the Panthers are wretched this year, but the overriding and prevailing thought should've been with a sweet, innocent 3-month old child who lost both parents in a spasm of cowardly selfishness Saturday morning.
I heard more than enough on Jim Rome's show at lunch today about jackasses thruout the country basically asking how dare the family of this beautiful young woman even think they have a right to question whether or not the Chiefs-Panthers game should've gone on. Total asshats, everyone of those "people".
Totally appropriate, what the Chiefs did and how they handled the entire situation, if you ask me. And many, many kudos to Jamaal Charles for the game he played, given that the young woman so senselessly murdered was his cousin-in-law, being not only related to Charles' wife but having been introduced to this coward by the Charleses.
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this young woman taken way too soon, especially the precious 3-month old angel who lost both of her parents before her first Christmas. So sad for the state of our country and our world right now ...

I have to admit, I was pulling for the Chiefs yesterday. I can't imagine what it must have been like to play that game yesterday in a Chiefs uniform.
Prayers go out to the families affected by the tragedy.

Terrible tragedy, indeed. I feel for the family and especially the baby. My heart breaks for her. I hope the family takes her in and gives her everything she deserves.

Look what the Cats dragged in.
Good performance by all involved for the Black & Blue.

What a good game by the Panthers. They pretty much dominated the Falcons. Why can't they play like that ALL THE TIME!?

Wow, Panthers DOMINATED the Chargers. What in the world? With a 3rd string offensive line, they have won a couple of games now. Too little, too late...but dang.

I know, they did the same thing last year....what's worse is all the 4th quarter leads they gave up that should have been wins...if not for that, they'd be leading the division.
And they did all this with a 3rd sting offensive line....go figure.
